Just a reminder, Waste Management will be picking up trash on Friday this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Please place your trash toters out the night before pick-up. Due to the holidays, Waste Management will begin collection at 5:30 a.m.

Save the Date! The LMBT Recreation Board will be hosting the 5th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony!

Joining us for the festivities will be the LMBT Sandt’s Eddy Fire Company and the Fidelity Bank "Sweets and Treats" van. We’ll be caroling, making crafts and enjoying FREE hot chocolate, cookies, hotdogs, popcorn and gifts for the children. And maybe, just maybe, Santa will surprise us and light the tree!

Santa is coming to Lower Mount Bethel Township on December 16th! The fire co. will be taking Santa around the township on the firetruck to see the little boys and girls of all ages. If you would like them to stop by your house, please call 484-221-2416 or 610-597-3802. You may drop-off a wrapped gift with the child's name and address at the firehouse any Monday evening between 6pm and 9pm. Santa will deliver the gift on Dec. 16th. Santa runs wil begin around 9am. Donations to help offset the cost are greatly appreciated.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has made their disaster loan offerings available to businesses AND RESIDENTS (homeowners/renters) whom qualify for their recovery loan products. In addition to Northampton County businesses/residents being offered assistance, all businesses and residents within contiguous counties to Northampton County are also eligible. The contiguous counties are: in PA – Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh and Monroe counties. Continuous counties in NJ are Warren County.

SBA is offering the following Disaster Loans to businesses/residents affected by the mid-July 2023 flooding:

• Business Physical Disaster Loans
• Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL)
• Home Disaster Loans

SBA does have some credit requirements such as: credit history & repayment ability.

This SBA declaration comes after PEMA has determined that a request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration via FEMA will mostly like not be awarded and PEMA did not want to delay the possible assistance any longer. So FEMA will NOT be offering Individual Assistance under a Presidential Disaster Declaration.

The Board of Supervisors is currently accepting letters of interest to fill the vacant position on the Environmental Advisory Council. Pennsylvania is number one for vehicle collisions with animals – mostly deer – according to an annual report issued by State Farm Insurance. Responsibility for removing deer carcasses from roadways is shared by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Game Commission. All state roads in Northampton County are covered by a contract between PennDOT and a private vendor who may be reached by calling 610-250-1840. All non-state roads are covered by the Pennsylvania Game Commission who may be reached by calling 610-926-3136.

At the Monday, July 13, 2020 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board of Supervisors passed Resolution 2020-10 establishing the Delaware River Valley Scenic Byway Advisory Committee. The purpose of this committee is to implement the strategies stated in the Corridor Management Plan to preserve, protect and promote the intrinsic qualities of the Byway. The Township is currently accepting letters of interest to fill the 3 vacant positions of the Advisory Committee. Welcome To Lower Mount Bethel Township

Welcome to beautiful Lower Mount Bethel Township. The Township is located in northeastern Northampton County, Pennsylvania along the Delaware River in the Lehigh Valley. It is bounded on the south by Forks Township; on the west by a portion of Plainfield Township; to the northwest by Washington Township and to the north by Upper Mount Bethel Township. Lower Mount Bethel Township is part of Pennsylvania's Slate Belt and has a population of 3,101 per the 2010 Census.

Lower Mount Bethel Township has a total land area of 24.7 square miles and is relatively rural in character. The primary use of township land is agriculture, with animal husbandry, dairy and corn field crops being the most important. Residential is the second most important use of township lands.

Lower Mount Bethel Township is classified as a Township of the Second Class by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The local governing body consists of five elected members comprising the Board of Supervisors. The Township has an appointed Manager/Treasurer to oversee administrative activities. The Township provides road service, building and zoning inspections, park and recreation services and administrative services to the community.
